80th Internation Film Festival
VIPs and journalists from all over the world, what more eagerly awaited moment than the film festival?
As every year it will take place on the Venice Lido, freedom and dialogue are the keywords.
It will be divided into eight enticing sections: Venezia 80 Concorso, Fuori Concorso, Orizzonti, Orizzonti Extra, Venezia Classici and Venice Immersive, as well as a Special Projection.
The pre-opening program on August 29th will be dedicated to Gina Lollobrigida, a fashion icon and one of the best actresses of the 1950s, remembering her in the best restorations of classic films at the exhibition, highlighting their content, with 24 film students alongside director and screenwriter Andrea Pallaoro who will be part of the jury for the best restored film.
This year, the entire exhibition will be directed by Alberto Barbera, and on the evening of August 30th, during the grand opening, the thrilling film Il Comandante, set during World War II, will be shown, recalling the example of solidarity, saving the lives of enemy sailors who survived the sinking, and reminding us to fight the enemy without forgetting the nature of being human.
