A journey through tea: culture, traditions, and an exclusive tasting at Corte di Gabriela
Tea is much more than just a beverage – it’s a ritual, an art. In many cultures, it is considered a symbol of hospitality and well-being. With roots that date back to ancient China, tea has traveled across continents, shaping traditions and social customs in Asia, Europe, and beyond.
In China and Japan, tea is deeply tied to refined and spiritual ceremonies, while in India, it has given rise to the popular chai culture. In the UK, afternoon tea is an institution, while in countries such as Russia and Morocco, tea plays a central role in hospitality and social gatherings.
In Italy, on the other hand, coffee culture has historically overshadowed tea, making it less important in everyday life. However, a growing appreciation for high-quality tea and tasting experiences has grown in recent years. This change is partly driven by tea sommeliers and experts who guide consumers through the rich world of tea, introducing them to flavors and traditions that were once little known in Italy.
For this reason, and following the great success of last year’s event, we are excited to bring back our exclusive tea party this year. Guiding you on this journey through aromas, history, and tea etiquette will be tea expert Martina Scalzo, who will lead you through a fascinating tasting experience, exploring unique flavors and traditions.
