As usual, it will take place in St. Mark’s Basin on the third Sunday of July, this year is the 15th it will start at 11:30 pm!
A unique and much-awaited event for citizens that, for boat owners, it is a must to enjoy the spectacle in the front row.
A sacred ritual where boats are decked out in festive lights, streamers, music, dancing and traditional culinary dishes.
The not-to-be-missed event fascinates with history and religion and has been celebrated since July 20, 1577, when a pontoon bridge was first created to reach the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer by cutting through the Giudecca Canal after the defeat of the Plague that did much damage and casualties in just two years.
The votive bridge, in addition to being an attraction and tradition of this festival, you will be able to cross it to reach the church and participate at 8:30 p.m. in the evening of sacred music, Admission will be free and will be presented by Roberta Reeder.

At the end of the plague in July 1577, it was decided to celebrate the deliverance annually by building a votive bridge.
