ART AND AWARENESS: MICHELA PIZZINAT SHINES A LIGHT ON VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AT CORTE DI GABRIELA
From April 10th to July 15th, 2025, Hotel Corte di Gabriela will host a powerful and deeply symbolic exhibition by artist Michela Pizzinat.
An exhibition that addresses one of the most painful and pressing issues of our time: violence against women and femicide.
A boutique hotel that has always embraced culture and beauty, Corte di Gabriela opens its space to a project that goes beyond aesthetics, becoming a message, a memory, and a moment of reflection.
The exhibition is free of charge and open to everyone: Venetians, tourists, art lovers, and anyone who wishes to be moved by a powerful story.
The signature piece of the exhibition – the same featured on the official poster – is inspired by the tragic story of Giulia Tramontano, a young pregnant woman murdered by her partner in 2023.
A femicide that shocked Italy, transformed by Michela Pizzinat into art that gives voice to silence.
The work is full of symbolism: the egg, held in the woman’s hands, represents Giulia’s pregnancy and the new life she was carrying; the black deer on the left side symbolizes death and the violent end of her existence.
The entire dress worn by the figure is decorated with imagery inspired by Japanese theatre, reinforcing the sense of drama and narrative, while the woman’s face, tearful and marked by sorrow despite its stillness, becomes an icon for all victims.
This art exhibition in Venice is not just a visual experience: it is an invitation to pause, reflect, and take a stand.
In a world where femicide is still a daily reality, art can become a tool for awareness, denunciation, and rebirth.
